Introduction to Ziaeian Hospital
Initially, the hospital began operations under the leadership of Dr. Mahmoud Soroush, with a limited number of staff transferred from other university units. It offered services in emergency medicine, general surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, and an operating room. Shortly thereafter, as the specialized and non-specialized staff were completed, orthopedics and ENT departments were also established. Subsequently, the hospital initiated a four-bed ICU unit. However, due to an incomplete specialized staff and the region's need for a CCU, the unit was converted into a CCU after a few months. During the presidency of Dr. Ali Kazemi Saeed from September 22, 1976, to July 1, 1980, the CCU underwent renovation.
